Stuff and Things

by Brooke on May 11, 2007

What a week it has been! Blogging just didn’t happen and that’s okay. :) I like doing it though because it is a way for me to jot down the stuff that’s happening in our daily life. It just feels good to know that things are written down because I know I’ll forget if it’s not! And I want to remember.

So to pretend that I’m organized (I used to be organized…long ago…) I’ll post a few of the highlights of the week in order:

Wait, I’ll preface with this: I swear our house is possessed! Lots of stuff went wrong this week. Our sprinklers wouldn’t turn off (unless we completely shut off the water downstairs). Our kitchen lights kept tripping the breaker so now we don’t have functioning lights in the kitchen at the moment. We’re having issues with our phones and have to get new ones because they keep dying on us and they stink. My computer kept freezing up on me and I had to do some projects on a deadline!! Isn’t that always the case? Oh, and we had a writhing mass of bumblebees congregating in the middle of a bush in our front yard–we thought it was a massive beehive–it was the creepiest thing ever. Yet about an hour after I first saw it, I went to take a picture of it and it was GONE. Disappeared. Spooky. I really was there, I swear! :) Anyway, those are a few of the annoying happenings of the last few days. Now, on to the highlights. :) And pictures.

On Monday–see, it was only a few days ago and I’ve already forgotten what we did! :) Oh, I did a little photoshoot for my friend Crtl-G aka Gina and her 3 week old little bundle. I got some cute shots so we were happy. And then Jaden and I got to go to the Jazz Game!! Round 2 of the Playoffs, Game 1. We got to watch the game in a suite (thanks KSL!) which was completely awesome. For FREE which is even awesome-er. :) These pictures don’t even do it justice, the view is so great in real life.

It was such an intense, close, exciting game. Super loud excited fans. At one point towards the end of the game it was seriously some of the loudest noise we’d ever heard! After it was over and the Jazz won, we were walking back to our car and people were still shouting and cheering and hooting and hollering in the streets, the sidewalks, everywhere. I’ve never been to a game where people did that. Before the game, I was already starting to lose my voice. By the end, I could hardly talk! But it was so much fun.

On Tuesday, Brandon had a fieldtrip for school, so Annie and I tagged along. We went to the Farm at Thanksgiving Point. We went on a wagon ride pulled by a tractor, got a little tour of the farm, fed some goats…fun times. I did a scrapbook page today with some pictures I took of Mr. B.

Tuesday night was another soccer game. I hate to say it but it seems that organized soccer leagues aren’t Brandon’s favorite thing. It’s been a bit of a struggle but it was a little better on Tuesday. I took some pictures but haven’t really sorted or edited them yet. Maybe I’ll post them later.

Wednesday night I taught at the Digital Scrapbook Memories free digital scrapbooking class. Although my voice was somewhat raspy and manly, it was lots of fun. I taught a project (the deadline I was referring to) that is top-secret until after Mother’s Day. (In case my mom or mother-in-law read this post!!!!). More on that later!! :)

Wednesday and Thursday were pretty hot so we got out the swimming pool! The kids had a blast. So here are a few pictures from both days.

(Love this picture (above)–I think he looks so handsome and grown up here!)

(I love this one of Annie (above) even though it’s not very focused–oh well.)

Annie just stayed in her clothes the second time since she joined in the fun after her nap, towards the end of the swimming session. :)

Well, this was a long one! :) If you’re still reading, you get a gold star on your forehead. :) Today Brandon slept in and then didn’t feel very good so we’ve just had a mellow day. Gotta clean the house, do lots of laundry, soccer game tomorrow, and get stuff ready for Mother’s Day, and hopefully squeeze in some fun family time in there somewhere. Ciao!

Why am I so addicted to see what you might post next? It feels like “You’ve Got Mail,” waiting to hear those 3 little words. Thanks for the entertainment this evening. Great photos!
