Childhood Friends

by Brooke on July 11, 2007

Today I got together with some girls who were some of my very first friends in my life! We met when we were in Kindergarten and grew up together and have some great memories….It’s been a LONG time since the three of us have gotten together, so it was awesome to have our kids play and to catch up with one another. I dug up a few old photos and scanned them in. I think the first one is the first day of Kindergarten–look at our afro hair! And the lunchboxes, awwww! I think mine was My Little Pony. The second one was the first day of First Grade. Our moms always did a little photoshoot the first day of school every year through elementary school. Check out those huge bows, oh, and my white stirrup pants! We were stylin’.

THEN:

THEN:

NOW:friends
And we convinced all of our kids to take a picture with the self timer–MIRACLE of MIRACLES we only had to take ONE picture and everyone was looking at the camera. Excuse me while I have a moment…..

Hard to believe that those three little girls who played My Little Ponies and had Kool-Aid stands and played dolls and dress up and sleep-overs and ran around like little rugrats now have kids of our own! It was fun to be with you, Katie and Marie! :)

Wow! What cute hair-dos and outfits we used to have!! The picture of us and all the kids acutally turned out cute! I can’t believe that they all looked and most of them smiled! Maybe I’ll start taking pictures with the self-timer and tripod from now on! It was so much fun to get together! We really do need to do it more often!

So I’m looking at these pictures and I’m thinking, “I totally know her friends.” Then it hits me. Well duh! Of course I do. I live in your old ward. Ha ha ha! Great pictures. I wish I still kept in touch with my elementary school friends. You’re lucky!

I love that we grew up in the 80’s – i doubt any other era will get to laugh at their childhood photo like we do. I bet that was fun to get together!
