I had a birthday, shout hooray!

by Brooke on December 17, 2007

It was my b-day yesterday. 29 years old. Sometimes I still feel like a 16 year old (in an older, chubbier body) and can’t believe that I’m almost 30 and have a family of my own. I asked Brandon how old he thought I was. His first guess was “Six” and I said “higher.” Then he guessed “100.” Um, NO, not quite! Made me laugh.
The day was spent doing churchly duties and taking care of sick kids (Jaden stayed home with them), it was a fairly mellow day. The best part was eating my grandma’s delicious birthday dinner and just being with my family.
We took this picture with the self-timer before going to my grandma’s place. Yes, Annie is on Motrin and Dimetapp in this picture. :)

We celebrated both me and my mom’s birthdays (her’s is on the 20th). We always like to get silly and pretty with the ribbon on our birthdays. :)

Jaden surprised me with this great external flash for my camera!

My parents gave me this amazing digital photo frame–it was a standard digital frame but was matted and re-framed in this beautiful black frame. So cool!! Can’t wait to put photos and my digital scrapbook layouts on there.

I also got some flowers from the kids, monies :), a CD, clothes, treats, phone calls, etc. Thanks so much, everyone!!! Dinner was so good and we had my grandma’s famous chocolate fudge cake. Hmmmm…..I always look forward to that. And then my sweet friend Susan surprised me later that night with one of her adorable little cakes, it was such a fun unexpected treat! Thanks!!

Now it’s time to finish up Christmas stuff. Have a good day!

Happy Birthday! Such an old fart, you are! Just noticed that our mom’s share the same b-day – maybe they should be friends! That would be cute.

I think I win the worst friend of the year award! I didn’t call you or Ashley on your birthdays! If it helps at all, I thought about it during church and then totally spaced it when we got home. I do have something for you though! Looks like you had a fun day. I love the picture of you and your mom with the bows on your heads!! What fun “girls” you are. (Even if you are getting so old!!!) Happy Belated Birthday!

awww…I was trying to make you feel special on your day, now I’m the one who feels special!
I’m wondering when you are going to start calling yourself a professional photographer…
It was great to see you. Can’t wait for lunch!
