Three Weeks Old

by Brooke on April 24, 2008

This is one of my new favorite pictures!!! What a trooper. :)

I also love these ones. I’ve been having so much fun with such a tiny photography subject!

I actually captured a smile while she was sleeping! Hooray! I have more spoon pics to post later.

This is a teddy bear that Jaden gave me when we were dating, so I’ve had it for YEARS. I’m going to try to take a pic of Haylie next to the bear each month to show how much she is growing.

At three weeks, Haylie is still an easy-going baby. A good eater and sleeper. Loves to try and hold her head up all by herself–she’s strong! She still seems so little to me, the preemie clothes are finally starting to get a little snug. :) Brandon and Annie can’t stop showering her with kisses and loves. They really adore her and get excited when she’s awake. They both use sort of a high-pitched voice whenever they talk to her. It’s pretty funny to hear what Annie says to her. “It’s otay, sweetheart. I’m here.” They sometimes still call Haylie “the new baby” but that’s not as common anymore as the newness is starting to wear off a little bit. It’s hard to think that we have three kids now–we’re a party of five! :)

I am feeling better from this weekend, thanks for the phone calls and sympathetic comments! What an awful experience, I hope I never get that again. {shudder} I’m in awe with how kind people are–we’ve been brought delicious meals all week (Thanks to Brittany, Julie AGAIN, and Brooke), wonderful gifts and visits. I’m very appreciative. Plus our incredible families with their constant support. So lucky are we!

So I’m away tonight until Sat. night for a digital scrapbooking retreat! I’m so excited. I’ll be teaching two classes at it and will be bringing Haylie along. People have already started fighting about who’ll get to hold her first. :) I’ll miss the rest of my family but it’ll be good for me to have a little getaway I think. I’ll share pics when I get back!

What a beautiful, beautiful baby. Great idea to measure the growth that way.

I had that infection too, so I know your pain. Two you say? I am so sorry. Gina is excited for this weekend. Wish I had a laptop so I could come along.
