Haylie–3 months

by Brooke on July 2, 2008

It’s hard to believe that July is here–summer has been flying by this past week with lots of swimming, playing with friends, family reunion, a bridal shower, our 8th anniversary getaway, spending time with family, battling colds and living in a haze of allergies and mountains of laundry…and of course Haylie continues to get older! I’ve been meaning to do a post of her 2 month stats but never got around to it…so today I wanted to post a few favorite pictures from the past few months that hadn’t made it to the blog quite yet and write down what’s happening with our little angel baby. :)

April ’08

Only a few weeks old but Haylie was already such a part of our family. So sweet and content and tiny.

Grandma Wendy got the kids shirts: Brandon had “Big Brother”, Annie had “Big Sister”, and Haylie had one that said “Baby Sister.” Naturally we had to do a little photo shoot with them. :)

It really is precious how much Brandon and Annie love their baby sister. The transition has been pretty smooth. They help me entertain Haylie, give her loves and kisses and her binkie when she is sad, and they sing songs to her and make her laugh and smile. Brandon’s so excited for when she can play with toys.

Two months old! Weighed 10 pounds and did very well at her check-up. The doc couldn’t believe how well she was holding her head up and how happy and easy-going she was. She’s always been a good sleeper but around 8 weeks was when on average she’d sleep between 8-10 hours before waking up to eat, then she’d go back to sleep for a few more hours. All of our kids have done this!! Generally she goes to bed around 8:00 pm and sleeps until 5:00 am-ish, eats and then sleeps until around 7:30 am. I mean, not every single night, but most nights.

When Haylie smiles, she smiles with her whole body! I love when she wakes up because when I look into her crib, she always gives me a huge wide open smile.

Strike a pose!

We say it all the time, but Haylie is probably our easiest baby so far. :) (Knock on wood!) I love that big smile.

Now she is always trying to sit up, always wants to be aware of what’s happening around her. She’s trying to grab at things and likes to chew on her hands. She always kicks blankets off. She “talks” and coos and goos and has such an expressive face. She likes her baths and watching herself in the mirror. She’s not crazy about swimming pool water yet. She’s a petite baby–many of her 0-3 months clothes are still a bit too big for her. She likes to stand up in our laps. She lights up whenever she sees her big brother and sister. She’s still a snuggler. We love little Haylie Belle. :) Honestly, I just smoosh and kiss her all day long.

Adorable, beyond adorable, beyond adorable. That almost made me want another of my own. Instead, I really should just come visit you. She is so smooshy. Agggh! Love her. I really am, again, amazed at the great photos you get. How do you get the greatest lighting ever? Is it just your totally awesome camera and talent, or are you poised and ready for the beam of sunshine that comes in each day and you owe it all to the sun? Love them all. That was just the post I needed.

Okay, so is the rule if you look at the pictures again you have to leave another comment? It would be embarrassing how many comments would be from me. I am loving that last picture of little Haylie. I might blow it up for my wall if that is okay. YEAH for babies that smile!

Oh wow, she’s SO cute. What a HUGE smile she has, she smiles like you. I love those big blue eyes. I’m so happy she’s so easy. Every mommy deserves an easy child once in a while. She could ALMOST inspire me to think about another one. But only almost. :)

She is so cute. I can’t believe it has been three months. Are you surviving 3 kids? You can tell how much your other kids love her. I hope that one day my boys can experience “baby” and “sister” love. Let’s get together soon, I miss my roomie.

She is such a cutie!!!! I’ll have to have you take some pictures of our little baby when he/she comes out! :) Since I’m pretty sure I won’t have a nice camera by then.
