Happy 3rd Birthday to Annie!

by Brooke on November 14, 2008

Our Annie turned three years old today, something that she’s been looking forward to for a long time. :) Where has the time gone???

My pregnancy with Annie was more difficult than with Brandon in that I felt sick for practically the entire time. But the delivery was the easiest of all three by far. It was a scheduled repeat C-section (for various medical reasons) so everything was planned out. Brandon stayed at my parents and we went early in the morning on Nov. 14 to deliver baby Annie Jayne. Brandon was so sweet and loving with his new baby sister. My recovery was pretty fast and everything went well. Jaden and I were looking at pictures from when Annie was born and were laughing at how young we all look!!! And at how much chubbier Annie was than Haylie. :) I wish I had more time to post more baby pics but I need to go to bed!! We’ve got BIRTHDAY PARTIES tomorrow!!

Here’s Annie at about 5 1/2 months old:

Turning the big ONE!

{Annie STILL is a messy eater to this day!}

Annie at age two:

Here is our girl this summer, at about 2 1/2 years old.

October 2008–looking more and more grown up.

And the birthday girl today!

“Mom, I got THREE today!”

We affectionately like to refer to our Annie-cakes as a tornado of destruction or as a bull in a chine closet. :) She manages to make a mess out of pretty much anything but has those huge eyes, dimples and an infectious smile that makes it hard to stay mad at her for too long. :) She is a delight and a drama queen all rolled into one curly-haired talkative person. She’s a girly princessy pink loving girl and yet she’ll play in the mud and play with trains and look like a little orphan the next minute. :) We love her to pieces and could never imagine our family without her spunky personality.

A few funny things she has said and done the last little while:

“That is so darling!” (while shopping for clothes)
“I will feel you better.” (while comforting you if you are sick or sad)
“My back has a tummy ache.” or “My mouth has a headache.”
“I want some pear-ruts.” (aka pears)
She has a thing for President Uchtdorf–one time while she was playing with Brandon they were pretending to be various characters, like Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Duck for example. At one point Annie proclaimed “I’m Uchtdorf!!” We still laugh about that one.
She also has called one of her babies “Uchtdorf” at one point. Also “hun” and “sweetheart.”
Annie talks about “princess school” all the time. She learned how to twirl and dance at this school, and apparently is classmates with all of her favorite princesses including Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. :)
One time she was eating dinner and of course had managed to get food everywhere, so I said “Jaden, look at her face!” Annie quickly added “It is so cute!”
Annie is a food hider!! A few times I haven’t been able to find her for several minutes, but usually she’ll be in her room, under her covers, eating a whole box of something!!! She’s polished off a container of Whoppers, crackers, etc. One time I finally found her in Brandon’s closet, and she’d eaten a whole candy bar. The evidence? Smeared chocolate all over her face. It’s pretty funny but at the same time NOT COOL! :)
Anyway, she says great funny things every day. We have lots of love for Annie Jayne. Happy Birthday to you!

So, so cute. I always love your pictures – she is a doll. The baby pic has such a similar expression to Haylie too – funny!

Okay – I just showed your gorgeous pics to my friends here at my girls weekend in CA – and they all want to know if you photoshop your pictures because they quality is so great (lighting, etc)…so you’ll have to email me or post back on my blog and let me know when you get a chance – and my friend is naming her coming baby Brooke but she needs a middle name that sounds good so she wants to know yours (apparently mine’s not good enough – ha:)

Okay. First of all, you are so clever to change your “Post a comment” to “Leave some love.” Always my clever friend.

Cute Annie. I remember visiting you in the hospital and bringing in my baby too. I remember changing her diaper on your bed, but that is another story.

Happy Birthday Annie-cakes. I love the memory lane photos. I can’t believe that she had her 2nd birthday in your new house (based on those photos). I keep forgetting how long you have been gone. Again, another story.

I will stop now. BYE!

Happy Birthday, Miss Annie! I can’t wait to hear about the Pinkalicious party, I bet it was over the top cute! I think Annie looks SO grown up in that picture of her sitting on the piano bench. I love it. I love all the fun things you wrote down about her. The Uchtdorf one is still my favorite! Miss you!

Brandon was talking about her “girly” birthday party he didn’t want to go home for! He said he was coming RIGHT BACK as soon as it was over!!! Kids are so funny!

That is so funny. I love how kids can always make you laugh and isn’t it just horrible that it’s impossible to stay mad at them. :) She’s darling. Happy 3rd birthday.
