Cuteness of Annie

by Brooke on February 24, 2009

Annie just cracks us up every single day. I think that 3 is such a delightful age–and a beastly age at the same time–but today I’m focusing on the delightful parts! Just some things I wanted to remember at this moment in time.

She wakes up in the morning with a huge grin and a huge afro. I love her “morning snuggles.” And her giggles–at the dentist yesterday (no cavities–hooray!) she earned a token and got to ride the little merry-go-round in the waiting room. Peals of laughter and giggles of delight from Annie-cakes. She made it sound like it was the best 60 seconds of her life. :)

In her Primary class they were learning about how we are spirit children of Heavenly Father. When Annie’s awesome teacher (shout out to Lara!) asked how the kids will prepare themselves to return to Heavenly Father, she wrote down Annie’s answer: Be on the planet, say prayers, live with my brother, eat cake. I laughed for DAYS about this one. Who knows where she comes up with some of the stuff she says!!! And of course, she would include food. Ahh, this still makes me laugh.

What Annie wants to be when she grows up: a baseball player. (Huh?)

Random questions she likes to ask me when we’re driving in the car: Do dogs have eyes? Do people fly? What is faster than an airplane?

Saturday was a warm day so while Jaden took Brandon skiing, the girls and I went for a walk to the park in our neighborhood. Annie rode her new Princess bike. The girl was a CHATTERBOX. She did not stop talking the whole time she pedaled, like a stream of consciousness. :) “Haylie can’t walk, but people can walk. Boys and girls can walk. Look, I see a butterfly! Can Haylie go in the baby swing? I love you, Mom. I’m doing great!” She loves to chat. Constantly.

I love having this 3 year old in our house.

Okay. So the stream of conciousness IS a 3-year old thing. Too cute. I do love that she included the food too. Seriously!

How cute! Brody just turned 3 and it is totally fun. He likes to ask me those questions too. “Where do cows come from? Where do phones come from? Why is that guy so big?” She sure sounds sweet.

While I was organizing, Annie also named a toy car “Sister Herway” (primary teacher) and had all of the other toy cars following her while saying her name. When I asked her what she was doing, she responded with “I love being wif you, Dad”.

p.s. Annie’s primary teacher sounds like a rockstar. :)

Brooke,
I look at your blog now and then from Angies and Dani’s links, I love all of your ideas! I noticed that the Canon xti is one of your favorite things. I have a Canon Rebel SLR that I have been using, but I am ready to make an up-grade. I was wondering why you chose Canon over Nikon. Every photographer that I talk to says Nikon D90 or D300. I had been looking at a Canon xsi or 40D. I really havn’t invested in many lenses so switching to Nikon wouldn’t be hard. I would consider myself an amature photographer, and would like to pursue it more. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
