Neato Web Findings!

by Brooke on March 25, 2009

Here are a few links that I wanted to share on my blog today. I’ll probably do this every so often to share some of my findings and stuff I like. This is what I pulled together this fine freezing cold snow-ish March morning.

Digital Scrapbooking

A Charity Collaboration Kit–in honor of my sweet friend Amy’s baby who was stillborn in January.

This is a beautiful collaboration kit called “Angel of Mine” created by GG Digital Designs, Jeni Hopewell, and Megan Turnidge to benefit the Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep organization. We have a friend who was recently touched by this organization and this kit is in memory of her sweet Alexis. The following is her experience:

“Imagine being pregnant for the first time, so excited to have a little bundle of joy come to your home and then at 37 weeks your doctor tells you that your baby’s heart has stopped. Your world is turned upside down. Where there was excitement there is sorrow, where there was joy there is deep sadness. You will never see your daughter’s smile or hear her cry in this life. This is what happened to us on January 14, 2009 and on January 15, 2009 Alexis Lynne was born into heaven. We were able to hold our precious angel and a wonderful professional photographer from a non profit organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep came and took priceless photos for free. I would later realize what an immeasurable gift that this company had given us….they had given us a way to remember our baby, beautiful photos that would make it possible for our baby’s life to mean something to others and to remind us that our baby was and is real! This is what Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep does for millions of families all over the world! In a time that is so heartbreaking, these photographers offer a gift so important and so treasured that there are not words to describe it. Please consider contributing to this beautiful organization, through the Angel of Mine kit, so that families can continue to receive this priceless gift of memories. After all, isn’t that what scrapbooking is all about, to preserve memories?”

Please read more about this amazing organization here. Also, please visit the GG Digital Designs blog to find out more about this beautiful kit, you get a TON of stuff for only $9.99. Click HERE to purchase.

Also, for a few more days, go grab this cute FREE St. Patrick’s Day kit at GG Digital Designs.

Couponing

www.grocerysmarts.com— only works for Utah and Nevada. The Utah code is g84clh. I may be hosting a class to teach you how to get started with couponing, taught by my awesome friend Lara, so we’ll see. Lara really likes anything Twilight related, she even named her baby Edward Carlisle Jacob Cullen. :)

Super Random Links

www.bloglines.com — I may have mentioned this before but this is the best way to keep track of your favorite blogs! Saves so much time. Or you could use Google Reader which is the same idea. Or I guess you could also use the “Follow” feature on Blogger. It alerts you when your favorite blogs are updated. Love that.

www.delicious.com — I love this site because it allows me to bookmark anything cool I find on the internet, and organizes it by tags that I create. I like it because I can access my bookmarks anywhere, not just on my own computer.

www.spoonflower.com — you can design your own fabric! Cool!!

www.cakewrecks.blogspot.comm — this blog is hilarious. Hideous cake creations, funny commentary. Win-win situation.

Well, I have more but I’ll save them for another day, gotta take Annie to play with her friends. What are YOUR favorite spots on the internet?? Do share. :) I want to know!!!!

Cakewrecks is my one of my favorites…it keeps me laughing everyday. Other good blogs: Fail.org, Despair.com, Engrish Funny. I’m personally a fan of Google Reader…it keeps me and the 218 blogs I read in check daily…including yours!

Thanks for the great links. PLEASE invite me if you host a couponing class. I’ve clipped coupons the last month, but I have yet to use them. I haven’t quite figured out how to save the big bucks, but I really, REALLY need to! :)

I think I have had more than a few cakes that could have gone to Cakewrecks!
I would love the coupon class. I was behind a lady at Target who had about 75 coupons, but only about 10 of them were actually for the right product. I am afraid of it because the cashier was so irritated!
