Annie’s Nutcracker Weekend

by Brooke on December 7, 2010

Last weekend Annie’s dance studio put on their annual Children’s Nutcracker performance. It’s a crazy whirlwind of rehearsals and several performances but in the end Annie and her friends had a blast together and did a fabulous job–it was worth it. :)

While I loved Annie as a Peppermint Stick last year, she had lots of fun being a mouse this year. These are the cutest mice I’ve ever seen. :) Annie loves taking ballet and tap with several of her best friends from the neighborhood.

During one of the shows Annie got to be the mouse who got shot by the soldier! Of course I panicked and had my camera on the wrong settings so the pics didn’t work out….but at least you get the idea. :) She did a fabulous job and “died” with such flair! I was proud of her!

Here she is getting dragged off the stage by her mice friends. So dramatic!!

Here are some more pics during the Nutcracker….

Like I said before, Annie has the cutest friends and they had so much fun together! Annie and Eliza on the stage.

I love this one of the mice waiting backstage for their turn to dance and march.

And this one of Annie and her buddies posing for the mamarazzi. :)

Daddy bought some beautiful flowers just for Annie and she was thrilled.

Annie and I.

Annie and her Grandma Wendy. My grandma also came to the performance but I think she was keeping Haylie occupied. :)

Brandon and Haylie loved watching Annie perform. They actually did pretty well for the whole thing. But I just have to share my favorite quote of the night: Haylie was watching the Waltz of the Flowers and said “I can do dat. I can twirl.”

So, guess who will be starting ballet next year? :) We’re going to be quoting that for years to come.

Awww, loved seeing these photos! Our studio only does this production every other year and this is the off year. Those are adorable mice costumes … love the bows on the tails! Can’t wait to see your two cutest dancers next year! Thanks for sharing.

Your kids are so cute! I almost hate to look at your blog (not really) because your kids are always so beautifully groomed and put together it makes my poor little ones look more like rag-a-muffins than normal. Honestly, I love your pictures, and with parents cute as you and Jaden, how can your kids be any different!
Hope your Christmas was wonderful!

Great photos (even the blurry ones)! Little girls are just made for dance… there’s nothing better than putting on a costume (even funny ones like mice) and WAY too much of your mom’s makeup so you can go onstage and twirl around and try to stay on your X. Perfect.
