{Belated} Happy St. Patrick’s Day

by Brooke on March 18, 2007

We don’t really celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in a huge way, but I did make a special little green pancake breakfast on Saturday morning. I wasn’t too sure if Brandon would dare to eat a pancake that was GREEN but he had several! Annie didn’t really care what color her food was, she was just having a good time. :) I attempted to make St. Patrick-ish shapes but failed miserably. My shamrock looked like a lopsided blob and I made a goofy looking rainbow. It reminded me of when my dad would make whatever shaped pancakes we wanted–his specialty was Mickey Mouse ears. I guess he didn’t pass along that gene to me. :) Here are some snaps of our little breakfast, minus Mom and Dad.

The rest of the day was pretty much spent outside in the GORGEOUS warmness. We had a picnic at the park and played there for a little while. Loving that.

Today Jaden and I had a proud little parental moment because Brandon gave his very first talk in Primary! We worked hard all week coloring the pictures and practicing the words, and he did an AWESOME job! Just got right up there like a big boy and did so well. It’s all about those itty bitty milestones in our lives…Speaking of which, our big boy is turning 4 tomorrow! I can’t believe it. Brandon’s been talking about it forever, about how he will be so big when he’s 4 like some of his friends at preschool, and how maybe he’ll change his favorite letter to “C” instead of “B”. :) Four years ago tonight I was being induced in the hospital, Jaden and I anxiously awaiting the arrival of our first baby. We had no idea the JOY he would bring–it’s been a wonderful (and challenging!) four years, and we are eager to see what the future holds! Hopefully I’ll have a chance to write more about the birthday boy tomorrow.

A funny little Annie story before I go to bed–at church she likes to grab a whole bunch of wipes from the diaper bag and she goes around the back row cleaning people’s legs. It’s pretty hilarious. Luckily the ladies don’t seem to mind! :) I call her “Cinderelli, Cinderelli….”!

Alright, goodnight!
