No greenthumbs here….

I think that at least once in nearly every child’s little life, they have that lesson in school or church where they learn about how things grow, so they plop some dirt into a plastic cup, drop a seed inside, and cover it back up with more dirt. In Brandon’s case, it was a carrot seed and he was really excited about it. So excited in fact that he literally DROWNED the poor helpless little seed with water every chance he could. I tried to teach him that we don’t need to use gallons of water when feeding the seed but it’s hard to dish out gardening advice when you stink at it yourself. I think we were supposed to lightly SPRAY the dirt every couple of days. Anyway, sadly, we forgot about the poor struggling carrot seed and this is what it looks like now. Yes, that is mold growing, I think along with some sort of barnacle. :) No little green bud poking through the dirt. Oh well. There goes my dreams of selling homegrown carrots on the corner.

I am so disapointed in you and your gardening efforts! Although I should try a scrapbook page and then you could feel better about yourself! I wish Brielle would say words on command. Mostly we are still just grunting and growling.
