Kid stuff

by Brooke on June 13, 2007

We were hanging out in the backyard the other day, and Jaden was kicking around the soccer ball. I was excited to catch this shot, even though the background is busy. He’s a little bit in the air, if you couldn’t tell. We decided it’s like an ad for VANS, you can read it perfectly on his shoes!

Some Brandon funnies:

**”Daddy, you need to ‘moo’ the lawn.” (The grass was seriously 1 foot tall and Brandon was calling the backyard a forest.)

**One day Brandon was playing at my mom’s house. He decided to play hide and seek but didn’t let Grandma know about it. :) So she was starting to freak out because she kept calling his name and couldn’t find him and thought someone had taken him….then all of a sudden, Brandon showed up! He had been hiding in Grandpa’s boat (sometimes they play in there). Hugging him tightly, my mom said, “I was calling frantically for you!!” He replied, “You weren’t calling ‘frantically’, Grandma. You were calling ‘Brandon’.”

**In Brandon-ese, “awsilly” means “also”. “Hey mama, I had some chocolate milk awsilly, like you.”

**My Aunt Shari sent him a cute card with a dalmation on the front, and inside she taped 4 quarters, you know, because Brandon is 4 years old. Brandon was so excited about the coins, as he calls them. He said, “Oh, I can use these 4 coins to buy a puppy!” Just because the card had a puppy on the front. Hmmmmmm, I don’t think so, Brandon. :)

**He is always telling other people, “I’m just a super hero.” Like at the park, or the store, wherever.

**He calls freeway exits “landings.” Like we’re in an airplane or rocket ship. “Hey mom, is this where we are landing?”

Annie’s favorite phrases: Et’s go (let’s go!). Et’s see (let’s see). A doo (love you). I want fruit snacks! Please? Mitts (milk). Yah (instead of yes). A-bye (means she wants to rock-a-bye in the chair or snuggle on the couch). Wawen (Brandon). Baff (bath). Jesus (she loves to point at pictures of Jesus). Da-dose (cheerios). Doo-dose (noodles). Tow-tow (turtle).

Happy kids.

There’s nothing like being a kid and playing in the mud. Especially when you’re in a dress. :) Whatever Brandon does, Annie is right there with him. Including mud splashing on a Sunday evening. Oh well, clothes can be washed, right? :) It’s the fun that counts.

Great pictures! Adam loved looking at Brandon’s pictures. We definitely need to get together again and let them play. Annie & Cambrie can play, too.

I love hearing what funny things other kids say & do. Thanks for sharing….he’s too cute! Oh, your wedding picture was awesome! Wish I could see more. It was fun seeing you that day at the temple, too bad we couldn’t talk.
