California Recap Part Three

by Brooke on August 3, 2007

We’d been looking forward to this trip for awhile! On the airplane, Brandon kept asking “When is the plane going to blast off?” Annie called the clouds “bubbles.” They were both good on the flight and were so excited when we landed in California.

We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn, which was down the street from Disneyland. It has a shuttle service to the park from the hotel, which was nice.

Grandma and Grandpa with Annie as we waited for the bus.

The Magic Kingdom!!

Notice anything special??? And don’t laugh at my cheesy facial expression. :)

Brandon was excited to meet Mickey Mouse inside his house…

Brandon and I on the roller coaster ride in Toon Town–the Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers one. It was great this year because Brandon was pretty much tall enough to ride most of the rides! Jaden and I took him on the Thunder Mountain Railroad, one of my favorites, but it was not Brandon’s favorite. He said, “I didn’t like the scream of it. And I didn’t like the fast of it.” But he was pretty brave!!

On the merry-go-round…I asked Brandon what his horse’s name was, and he replied, “Mary.” Then the whole ride he kept saying “Giddy up, Mary!”

Annie loved this ride and did NOT want to get off. :)

This is Pirate Brandon. “I’m a scurvy pirate! ARRRRRR, mateys!” was his slogan.

One night the kids went back to the hotel with Grandma and Grandpa, so me and Jaden and Jordan and Amy got to hit the town. As much as I love the kids, it was SO NICE to be just US for a few hours. I felt like we were on a date. :)

At California Adventure….

Main Street, Disneyland (after we went on Splash Mountain!!)

I love the Haunted Mansion!! This is me and Jaden being SCARED…

This is Jordan and Amy being scared too. This was right before I got busted for using flash photography on the ride. Oops! :)

More Tinkerbell pics..

Brandon was so brave and went on the Matterhorn with Jaden and Jordan!!

The Bug’s Life part of California Adventure is so stinking cute. Our favorite was the Heimlich, the chubby caterpillar, train ride. I LOVE him. We were laughing our heads off on this cute, 30 second ride.

The Electric Parade is a must-see. The kids absolutely loved it, even though it was past their bedtimes. Annie was excited when she saw her favorite princess, Cinderella.

Let me spend just a moment on my all-time favorite ride. The California Screamin’ rollercoaster. The last day, Jaden and I rode on it 4 times in a row!!!

We like to try and make THE UGLIEST faces for the camera on the roller coaster. (Sorry about the horrible picture quality–I was taking pics of those big screens they have when you get off the ride.) People were laughing at ours. :) I think I won the ugly face contest. :)

We got to see Mater and Lightning McQueen. At this point the kids were at the hotel and just Jaden and I were getting in one last round of rides before we checked out.

Hanging out with Mr. Incredible. We felt cool meeting Brandon’s favorite “celebs.”

All in all, we had a blast at Disneyland!! Can’t wait to go back!!

You ought to be the marketing agent for this dive! You make it look so good. HA I went once when I was about 10, and then once again when I was maybe 18 (for a short day). I don’t remember much. I think I really need to go. Who knows when. Maybe before the next munchkin.

I LOVE the Tinkerbelle pictures! Such a cute idea. I’m going to totally copy it if we ever get to Disneyland. I love how you always have pictures of your entire family. Do you ask strangers to take them or do you take your tripod with you? I think I have like, 2 family pictures in the last 4 years. Pathetic.
