Happy Birthday, Annie!!!

by Brooke on November 14, 2007

Our baby girl Annie Jayne was born on this day, two years ago.

We were so thrilled to be having a girl; we felt so lucky to have a son and a daughter. I’m the only girl and so this whole girlie thing was new to me!! I remember as I was in the OR in the midst of the C-section, my OB and the assistants and Jaden were all talking about football and other manly topics, and I said “Hey! We’re having a girl here, let’s talk about girlie things!” So of course they started chatting about ponies and princesses and whatever they could think of. :) It was pretty funny. Annie was healthy and strong and immediately just belonged in our family. The time has flown and now we have another true toddler on our hands. We keep saying, “She’s a ‘real’ girl now!” Getting so big…..We love our Annie-cakes to pieces! We’re so glad she’s ours!!

I did a little update on Annie pretty recently, if you wanted to check out that post. I have some more funny things she’s said and done, and want to do an “official” 2 year report, but that’ll have to be another day. :) Here is the link: http://brookie-wookie.blogspot.com/2007/10/thursday-thursday.html

So we celebrated Annie’s birthday on Saturday with family. It was just great having them all here in our new home. I made her cake–Cinderella and her bouffant-ish gown. I really should learn my lesson but I always like to attempt–key word is attempt–to make a cute homemade birthday cake. By the end I’m usually ready to chuck it out the window. :) I need to hire Susan or BreeAnne next time….

But here she is, slightly tipsy.

Now for the Annie Photo Extravaganza. Mega amounts of pictures on their way, just so you know. The girl was on the move but I was able to get a few shots in. :) This first one was at the beginning. She’d had a rough time the night before and wasn’t feeling the best, so she got one last rest in and then…

here come the happy smiles.

I adore this dress. Love the brown and turquoise together–my little Curlylocks!

Check out those tippy toes, smooching Uncle Jordan!

It was so nice outside, Annie went out for a little jaunt in the front yard, showing off her birthday dress. :) Barefoot. In November. What??!?

Annie really made me feel good because she LOVED her cake. When I was finishing decorating it she was sitting on the counter by me and kept making little comments. “Tute (cute) Rella, mommy! So pretty! I love my tate (cake)! Awww, tute!!”

She kept sneaking little licks!

I haven’t done many B/W because i’m loving the color lately, but I liked this one. She was reaching up for the balloons. I love the look on her face!

Playing with new toys…

My mommy heart just melts at this one. Could I love them any more?!?!?

She got so many fun presents and loved it all: Pink retro kitchen, dolly cradle and high chair and stroller, dishes and pots and pans, play food, a jewelry box and bracelet, clothes, cash….:) It’s all good! She kept saying, “Oh, tute!”

Singing “Happy Birthday”. She wasn’t so sure the first time, so when it was over, she said “Do den.” Which means “Do again.” So we sang again! She was much happier the second time. We must’ve needed the warm-up. :) I love this one of Daddy and his baby girl. :)

Mmmmmm, cake…..

Grandpa and Brandon putting the finishing touches on the kitchen. Both grandpas were busy assembling! Thanks!

Here is most of the family who were able to come, the “lucky” ones who were still there so I could force them to be in a group picture. :)

Now, for a silly one. Annie thought it was hilarious.

Happy Birthday, Annie!!

WE LOVE YOU!!

PS: I am going to Orlando, Florida for the rest of the week to help out and teach digital scrapbooking at the Memories Scrapbooking Expo–FUN! I’ll miss my family, but it’s going to be fun to be “just me” for a few days. :) I’ll be back Sunday!

I LOVE LOVE that dress. She looks so grown up. Way cute pictures and I’m so impressed with your cake making abilities. Looks like it was a super fun party. Happy Birthday Annie!

P.S. As I was looking at all the pictures, Aidan came in and pointed at the monitor and said “Annie!” Wow…that is huge considering his vocabulary consists of about 5 sounds (not words).

Your cake turned out way cute. I just ordered my cinderlla cake today. I am not even attempting that one this year. My belly would probably knock it over. Annie’s pictures are way cute.

Scrapbooking, photography, nursing, music, and now cake decorating- is there anything you can’t do?!
Have fun in Florida. I wish I could be there to take your class!
