Kids’ Job Charts

by Brooke on January 13, 2008

This weekend I made some job charts for Brandon and Annie. I’ve been meaning to do this for awhile and finally just did it. I sat with them and they helped me make a list of the main chores they need to do everyday, I thought that way they would have a say in what would go on the chart and perhaps be more willing to actually DO the jobs! Brandon has been SO excited about it and loves to tell everyone and he can’t wait to check off the jobs he finishes–I need to enjoy that excitment while it lasts!!

I made personalized charts for each of them (we took pictures of their own stuff), printed them 12×18 inches at Costco and laminated them with my new laminator my parents gave me for Christmas! We’ll use a dry erase marker attached with velcro to check off the squares. Just thought I’d share–I’ve had a hard time finding one I liked, so sometimes it works better to just make your own! I love how they turned out!! You can click on the images to make them larger.

I used various digital scrapbooking products–Digital Scrapbook Memories, Shabby Princess, Gina Miller, GG Digital Designs….and Photoshop Elements 4.0.

THANK YOU for the kind and supportive and empathetic words about my grumpy post!! I love how at any given moment, another mom is most likely having the same feelings of frustration that I am! :) I just really appreciate your comments, they made me feel better. So thanks again to my friends. Lots of love to you all. Maybe I’ll be Mad Madame Mim for Halloween this year….

These turned out so so so cute. I think I’d be better at doing my chores if I had a cute job chart to check off each day. I’ll have to copy your idea. Where are you putting them??

I think I’ll just continue to yell at my kids in order to get them to do anything. Those job charts are darling – but I’m definitley not talented enough to pull it off!!!! Good work (I told you you were one of those people that can get more done than anyone else)!
