Winter "Break"

by Brooke on January 4, 2008

Christmas was a lot of fun and we kept pretty busy afterwards as well. It’s called a holiday “break” but really, it’s not a break at all, but way busier than regular life, right?? But still lots of fun.

Some highlights from the past week or so–post-Christmas and into the New Year:

  • **Jazz Game with Jaden’s family–ate dinner in the “box”
  • **Dinner at Asian Star to celebrate me and Janson’s birthdays–delicious as always
  • **OB appointment–everything’s still A-OK with baby
  • **Party with my Dad’s side of the family–pictures below!
  • **Movie with Judy and Meagan–“The Great Debaters”–very good movie!
  • **New Year’s Eve get-togethers with family and friends–good times, kids included
  • **Skiing on New Year’s Day for Jaden, spending time with my family, dinner in Park City with his family–coldy but fun
  • **Tyler’s birthday–yummy dinner at Market Street Grill and a surprise party afterwards
  • **Playing with some friends during the break–crazy chaos, never a dull moment

The Family “Festival”

We had a family party after Christmas with all of my cousins, aunts, uncles, and Grandma “Tutu.” There are so many of us that it has to be held at some sort of church facility. :) We ate soup and finger foods and visited and let the kids just run wild in the gym. They really had lots of fun.

Annie adores babies. She was so happy to get to hold Avery, and cried when she had to let her go. Hopefully she’ll be alright with her new baby sister coming in a few months!

Thanks to Uncle Lew, there was a plethora of fun toys and cars for the kids to play with. They were so cute!

Brandon and Halle had a blast playing on the stage and putting on “shows.”

Ahhhh, us cousins have lots of fun and get spazzy when we get together. Aren’t we pretty?!? {Heather, me, Wendi, Julie, and Kirsten}

When we left the church, Brandon said that he had so much fun at that FESTIVAL. Then he asked if it was a fair. Ha!! Looks like the party was a big success to this 4 1/2 year old. :)

With Jaden’s brother Janson and his wife Meagan in town we did lots with his family, and actually got a shot with all of us together on New Year’s Eve. Yay!

Then, Ty’s 25th birthday celebration–he was totally surprised to open the door and see hoards of his friends shouting Happy Birthday at him. :)
So now, the Christmas decorations are stored away, the organization bug has come on strongly (hello, nesting!), Brandon’s back in school–so bring on 2008!!

OK, so I see poor dental hygiene runs in your family. :) Those are great pictures as usual. It sounds like a great winter break. You ate at all of my favorite places!

Annie looks so cute in that picture holding the baby, but the poor baby. I think we will get many of those pictures soon. Here’s hoping the babies survive the toddlers!
