But wait, there’s MORE Valentine-y goodness.

by Brooke on February 11, 2008

I’ve made a few more Valentine thingies. Do you want to see them? Are you sick of this yet?

I made Brandon’s class Valentine cards–I wanted to do something not too girly or lovey-dovey or heart-y and pink, and keep it really simple but personalized. He’s really into Super stuff (as evident by his name change discussed here) so I grabbed the superman image from the www and made a simple little card in photoshop. Oh, and I wanted to save him time from having to sign all of the cards so I had him write his cute little name on some paper, took a picture of it (our scanner isn’t hooked up to my laptop yet), and cropped it in beloved photoshop to add to the card. Sweet! He was so excited.

I made this 3×4 inches so I could slap two of them onto a 4×6 photo to be printed at Costco. And that’s what I did. Like 8 cents per card, woo hoo! Then we punched 2 holes on the side and put a Valentine-y sucker in there. Brandon loves them and is so excited to give them to his school friends on Wednesday!! Here is the finished product:

I know I’m silly but for some reason I can’t stop. I need help.

Okay, remember the Hershey bar wrappers I made a few weeks ago? Well, I also made a template to use on smaller candy bars, specifically the delicious Kit Kat bar. So here’s what it looked like when I was done using the template:

I saved the whole thing as a jpeg, printed it as a 5×7 at Costco and trimmed the extra off (the template is a bit smaller than a 5×7 print). Then wrapped it around the Kit Kats. And here is how they turned out:

{I used the “Amore” kit from the free holiday sampler from www.shabbyprincess.com and stitched felt alpha by Dani Mogstad at www.sweetshoppedesigns.com }

So maybe you were thinking, “Hey, I want to make those too!” Well it’s your lucky day, because I have made another template to give to you!

Here’s the linky:

Oh, and if you wanted the Hershey sized candy wrapper, I’ve renewed the download link for that as well.

And lastly but not leastly. Instead of going out to a romantically expensive dinner on Valentine’s Day, we are staying in with the kids and making it a small party. I’m doing a little scavenger hunt for them, making some sort of festive dinner (no, really! I am actually planning to cook!), and we’ll be playing BINGO with these little Valentine-themed bingo cards I made. Can you see I’m trying to make up for the bad case of the grumps I’ve had this pregnancy. :)

{I made this with the “Schnookums” digital kit at www.ggdigitaldesigns.com }

Again, printed at Costco as a 5×7 and then I laminated each card. I made 4, one for each of us.

We’ll use little candies to cover the numbers. And eat them along the way. I thought this would be fun to help Annie with number recognition too.
And because I’m feeling the love, I am sharing the bingo template!!! Hooray!!!!

Again, thank you for your comments and thank-yous when you download, it really is nice.

Have a lovely day. We’re off to Grandma TuTu’s for lunch with the cousins today!!

You are the greatest. Yeah for MORE Valentine-y goodness. If you posted 12 more times, I wouldn’t be sick of it yet. So cute. I am going to use the BINGO thing with all of the cousins. BINGO is the best game for kids of varying ages. THANKS!

It is a good thing Jaden was brought up in the home of Judy, otherwise he might be having an overload of cute.

You are a digital genius. I hear a Chicago song coming on…”…you bring meaning to my life, you’re the inspiration.”

you’re fabulous, Brooke! I hope Easter gets you this excited too because you are coming up with awesome ideas! Thanks for sharing! My kids are too young to do numbers on the bingo, but maybe if we did pictures of things instead… hmmmm… BTW we’re staying in too. I like your idea of turning it into a party. Although I just can’t picture you grumpy!

Brooke I love it. I wish I would have thought of something like that for Jackson’s valentines cards for school. They are darling. I am doing that for sure next year.

You make me sick (in a good way of course). I love it, and someday, I may just have to jump on the bandwagon, especially since I bought photoshop today!!! Yeah.

Are you a real person??? Or some sort of robot programmed to be super human? I don’t understand how a regular human being could be like this!!!

Hopefully some of this craftiness will rub off on me tonight! See you soon!

Your creativity amazes me. I feel so inferior and dumb when I read your blogs. Maybe one day I will become smart with a computer and be able to figure out some of this stuff. Your amazing!!! Sounds like you had the best Valentines Day.

Brooke,

It’s Katie Melo. My little sister Annie showed me your blog and introduced it as the best blog she’s ever seen and I have to agree! I love seeing these (AMAZING! by the way) pics of your cute kiddies. And the templates and ideas are to die for! You have always added smiles to everything and it is so fun to see it spread to your kiddies. Tell Jaden hi and thanks for making me smile. Good Luck in your last few weeks.

Well I am still here strolling thru your blog and totally enjoying myself! lol

Your kiddos are completely adorable!

My kids are 25+ and it is fun to see some things I did way back then with them are still big now. I did bingo cards for both of my kids for school parties. Ya that was back when you could still bring homemade stuff to school! lol I know way back in the dark ages! ha ha I have to say though your ideas are so much cuter!

Thanks for the templates and the fun morning read. Have a good one!
