Bracket Album and other digiscrapping stuff.

by Brooke on April 12, 2008

I wanted to share a fun little project I did just before I had Haylie (actually the day before I had her!). I created a “bracket album” with pictures of Annie from each month of 2007. Kind of a simple “year at a glance” little mini book, no journaling. I’m planning on making one for Brandon eventually (and Haylie too). I love how it turned out.

I actually made an entire 10-page bracket album template and it’s for SALE right **HERE** at http://www.ggdigitaldesigns.com/! My first thing digiscrapping-wise that I’ve ever put up to sell. Maybe my last too! :) I’d offer it for free but it kind of took forever to make because of the odd bracket shape. :) Right now it’s for sale at less than $5 until April 15th and would make a great Mother’s Day gift I think. Save yourself some time with templates! So there you go!

It fits on the chipboard bracket album by Basic Grey and I got mine at Roberts. I printed my pages at Costco on a 12×18 sheet (6 little layouts fit per sheet), cut them out and used double-sided tape to adhere. I might use Mod Podge to seal it from dirty little fingers. :) Here are a few more sample pictures just to show you.

I did a few other layouts before Haylie was born. (That might be how I describe our life for a little while: BH=before Haylie, AH=after Haylie. Ha ha! Not in a bad way though.)

All using www.ggdigitaldesigns.com stuff.

Hopefully one day I can maybe have this hobby again!! :) Don’t you feel that way after you have baby? Like there’s not enough time in the day? I’ve already been too long here on the ol’ computer so goodbye for now!

Everything is SO cute. You’re amazing. The one week pics of Haylie are DARLING too. She is a cutie.

Your creativity never ceases to amaze me! I know what you mean about having the hobby “AH”. It has taken me three days to complete one layout of Abi. This retreat is very needed.

I’m in love with the album. I will have to purchase that. I may have to get a second…I mean third job to afford my habit. Love it! Such cute pages too. You used some great fun colors. Did you make that last real scrapbooked “thank you” and then put it on a table with a reflection? I can’t for sure tell. Super cute again. You never cease to amaze me.

Gina–the Thank You note was all digital…I printed it 4×6 at Costco and just used double-sided tape to stick it on folded cardstock. I took the pic on my piano!!! Just FYI…and Thanks!

I totally love your work! I am thinking about buying your album or thingy…but I am clueless on everything. Be prepared this is a dumb question…do I also buy all the papers and emb. as well? And then do I have to put it all together? I know, I am seriously at step 1.

Thanks

About the templates: they basically are kind of “blueprints”. The basic design is there and you can totally customize it by adding whatever papers and embellishments and photos that you want to add. The papers and elemens are not included (I am not a designer!!!). You’ll use what’s called a “clipping mask” in photoshop to make your papers take on the shapes provided in the templates. The instructions are included in the file.

I bought a physical chipboard bracket album at the craft store (Roberts Crafts) but really you could just print out the finished layouts and mount them on cardstock to give it more weight.

Hopefully this is helpful to you! :)
