Halloween ’08

by Brooke on November 11, 2008

On the day of Halloween Brandon didn’t have school, which actually was really nice. It felt more laid back to break up some of the activities (his class party was the day before) and have the trick-or-treating to look forward to that night.

Annie and Haylie in their fun Halloween wear.

We had lots of fun with it being Haylie’s first Halloween. Of course she was so excited about it all. :)

We went to lunch with Julie and Kecia, with nine kids total. Whew, that’s always an adventure. :) I grabbed the picture from Kecia’s blog, thanks Kec!!

It was fun this year because we had parties with the grandparents and family earlier on in the week (future post about that) so we were able to stay home that night and be in our own neighborhood rather than traipsing across the valley. :) I made worms and bones for dinner (spaghetti and breadsticks shaped like bones) then we headed outside for pictures.

The kids were all so excited!

Brandon met up with some of his best buddies to start and Annie was able to see some of her friends later on. But Annie likes hanging out with the fellas. :)

Jaden took the kids trick or treating and Haylie went to a few doors then stayed home to help me pass out candy. :)

The kids had a total blast, enjoying the warm but slightly rainy weather and the loads of candy they picked up. Brandon and his friends ran from house to house in record time. :) Jaden enjoyed scones and treats at the Christensens (what a great idea). They came home happy and ready for bed. Yay!

Then, after all the kids were in bed, my friend Lara had a fabulous girls’ night out with a whole bunch of girlies in the neighborhood at her house. We stayed up LATE just talking and laughing and eating delicious goodies. A great way to end the busy day and night. :) I think this should definitely be a tradition!!

And this isn’t the last I’ll be writing of our Halloween festivities, I have a few more posts up my sleeve. My goal is to wrap it up before Thanksgiving! Ha ha! :)
But really.

Hailey’s smile in that last picture with Jaden is so darling. I love the picture of your kids in their costumes sitting on the grass with the fall leaves all around them. Once again, AMAZING!

Brooke! Hello my cute long lost neighbor! Hailey is so adorable! I can’t believe how big she is getting! What a sweetheart! How in the world have you guys been?! I was so bummed to have missed the girls retreat in Park City. I heard you guys had a blast. We need to do it again! Well, have a great night! And you’ll have to let me know how your dinner turns out(I just got off facebook). I’m always up for a new recipe! My family totally loves the Pear Lime Jello…Mmmmm. :)

You need to have a witches night out. We have done it for three years now and it is sooooo much fun.
