Annie’s Pinkalicious Party

by Brooke on March 16, 2009

Now that we are FINALLY feeling better at our house, I’m going to try to get more caught-up on blogging. So today we are going WAY back to November 2008, when Annie turned 3! I asked her what kind of party she wanted to have, and she just said, “pink.” So we decided to have a “Pinkalicious Party,” based on one of Annie’s favorite books. (Pinkalicious by Elizabeth Kann) Be prepared for a pink explosion of pictures. :)

Here is the invitation I made. We invited 5 of Annie’s adorable little friends.

On the big day of her party, Annie wore her beautiful, most pinkalicious birthday dress and shoes! I couldn’t believe my baby was turning THREE.

Annie and Daddy.

While the girls arrived for the party, I had Sleeping Beauty playing on the TV. They all sat on the couch in their pinkalicious finery and were mesmerized by Sleeping Beauty. I couldn’t get them to look at me! :)

So this is what we did at the party:

**I read them the Pinkalicious book.

**We decorated pink princess crowns with pretty jewels and stickers and glitter.

**We made beautiful pink, white and “crystal” beaded bracelets.

Jaden was giving Annie important bracelet advice. He’s a fashionista. Ha!

**We played pink bingo, aka “Pinko.”

I made these in photoshop using various pink elements and pics from the internet. We covered up the squares with pink jelly bellies.

**Annie opened her presents: barbies, books, coloring stuff, princessy things….so much fun. Such generous friends!

**We had a pinkalicious lunch–pink juice, heart-shaped sandwiches with pink jelly, grapes, fruit snacks, etc.
**Don’t forget the pink cupcakes that made Pinkalicious turn…. PINK!

**We sang Happy Birthday to Annie and she made her birthday wishes.

It was so much fun. The girls were absolutely darling and well behaved and said the cutest things. Jaden and I couldn’t believe how relaxing and calm the whole thing was! Much different than the Super Hero Training Camp from March 2008. :)

Eliza, Scarlet, Annie, Gabby, Lauren, and Brielle (she didn’t want her picture taken!). I tried getting pictures of Annie with each friend but with the craziness of parents picking up and the girlies wanting to play with Annie’s new stuff kind of made it hard. :) You just have to go with the flow.

Annie and Scarlet.

Annie and Brielle.

Annie and Lauren.

Annie and Gabby. Nice face, Annie. :)

So if you were “pinked out” already, sorry but we’re not done!!! After the pinkalicious girlies went home, we had our family over for more party fun! My super talented friend Susan made this amazing pink cake. Everyone loved it.

Especially the birthday girl.

Annie opened MORE presents….(a dollhouse, babies, books, Tinkerbelle stuff, clothes, etc)

Snuggled and smooched her great-grandmas….

Blew out candles….

and thoroughly enjoyed eating cake and ice cream. What a delicious day.

We’re so grateful for our supportive family. We love them all!

I’m so lucky to be Annie’s mommy!

************************************************
What a relief to have finally posted all those pictures. :) One day I WILL get caught up on other pictures and posts. One day.

This week we have lots to look forward to. And you probably didn’t know this, but TODAY is my little bloggie’s 2nd birthday!! Yep, I’ve been blogging for 2 whole years, where did the time go? If you are bored, feel free to check out my “vintage” posts in the archive section. :)

Other happenings for this week include:
Brandon’s 6th Birthday and all the celebrating that goes with that!
Brandon is the VIP at school all week long–he has been looking forward to this week since the first day of school.
St. Patty’s Day
Jaden is playing in the MHS alumni basketball tournament every night this week. Fun times.
Volunteering in Brandon’s class and taking treats for his bday.
Scrapbooking Expo.
Several play groups.
Enjoying the warm weather and the first day of SPRING! Woo hoo.

So I guess this week’s underlying blog theme is BIRTHDAYS. Maybe I should also blog about my 30th birthday from clear back in December. :) That’s on the list…..

Have a great day!

Adorable. I love the pink idea. I may do something more like that for the upcoming 4th birthday. Princess is always the given, but Pinkalicious….wohoo!! I love Annie’s hair that day. Super cute. Still can’t get over Susan’s amazing talent. I am also going to kill her about the move. GRRRRRR

Ok, I need YOU to start thinking about what I can do for my twins 3rd b-day in December because I am not nearly talented enough to come up with all of those fun ideas. What a great party.

Okay. So Scarlet’s bows are horrible. Husbands cannot do hair. However, what a darling party. I am so glad that Annie and Scarlet are buddies.

Let me take a look through my files, I’m pretty sure I still have the PINKO cards. I’ll get back to you!

Love the party! I’m planning a Pinkalicious party for my 5-year-old’s golden bday (so it’ll be kind of Goldilicious too) and your blog is a great resource. Love the Pinko, as well – if you do have the file still, would you send it to me? I, too, am computer-challenged and could never create something as cute as yours.

Hi Krista! This blog of mine hasn’t been active for a year and I might not have the files anymore (I had a hard drive crash) but I will look for them and can send them to you if I do. :)
