Winners and a Quirky Tag

by Brooke on October 11, 2008

Okay! Wow, it was fun to read all the comments, from new and seasoned commenters alike. :) I have randomly drawn from 27 comments, and the winners are……drumroll please……

Congrats! This was fun! I have both of your emails, so I’ll send you the links to the September issue of Bella Scraps. Enjoy and look for my little article and project inside. 😉 I will do this again for the October issue, so stay tuned for that.

Well, since you’re here already, you might as well read about my quirks, because I’ve been tagged by Natalie. :)

Definition of quirk: n. 1. A peculiarity of behavior; an idiosyncrasy: “Every man had his own quirks and twists” Harriet Beecher Stowe. 2. An unpredictable or unaccountable act or event; a vagary: a quirk of fate.

Rules: Link the Person who Tagged you. Mention rules on your blog. Tell about 6 quirks of yours. Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same. Leave a comment to let them know.

1. I always read magazines backward. I have no idea why I do this but I start at the back and move through that way.

2. It’s really hard for me to finish every single bite of food–I almost always have one bite left on my plate. Jaden teases me about it but I just can’t have that last bite.

3. Before I eat piece of bread I have to put it on my face and smell it. Weirdo! I blame this one on my dad. When we were little and wanted a piece of bread he’d always put it on our faces. I didn’t really think this was odd until I got married and put bread on my face and inhaled. Jaden looked at me like I was an alien. But I still do it every single time.

4. Whenever I get into my bed I have to leap onto it (it’s a deep mattress), get the pillow fluffy, and then slam my head onto the pillow. Yet another time where Jaden looks at me like I’m psycho. But he loves me. This takes me back to college days when Julie and I would take a running leap to get onto our super high dorm beds because we always put them on cinder blocks for storage. :) Good times.

5. Whenever I eat M&M’s or Skittles I kind of color coordinate them and take turns eating each color evenly. I do possibly have some OCD tendencies.

6. If I could, I’d drink Carnation Instant Breakfast for every meal. And along with that, something that I’ve mentioned on this blog before, is that I start to get sad and panicky when we are running low on milk. And I don’t truly breathe a sigh of relief until there are several gallons safely in my fridge, ready to drink and are ice cold.

7. I added another one just for kicks. Whenever I’m gearing up to make a really hideous face for a funny photo, I make a weird grunty noise until the picture is taken. Just ask my family about when we are at Disneyland on a ride that takes your picture–I figure out where the camera is and when it’s almost time for the flash I make my ugly face and my weird noise. I can’t help it. I think it’s genetic. I can’t describe it. I can make some very ugly faces.

Hee, this was fun. So, I would like to tag: Gina S., Ashley M., Kirsten W., Brit F., Katie O., Jaclyn E. and whoever else wants to do it. It’s kind of fun to tell the internet world about how strange you are. :) :) :) It’s oddly therapeutic.

I knew you had some good quirks! I laughed about the M&Ms and Skittles. I eat them the exact same way! That's really funny.

i’m pretty sure I’ll never be able to compete with your level of weirdness (umm i mean quirkiness). Oh and you should try the slim fast milk chocolate drink. You mix it with ice and milk in the blender. It’s like a chocolate shake for breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner.

So cute. I’m going to have you over to eat sometime so I can watch you smell your food first. Thanks for the tag, I have actually done it already, here is the link. http://englandtwins.blogspot.com/2008/09/little-quirky.html

I totally read magazines backwards and I completely agree with the carnation instant breakfast! Just thought I’d stop by your blog. Haven’t seen it lately. You are so incredibly talented, Brooke! Tell me, where one would start a baby book… I am totally overwhelmed and have little time to make it as amazing as your projects look…. I just need a simple start… do I scrapbook it… or by a memory book? Help Brooke!
